Target Problem Areas This New Year!

The new year is here! What are your resolutions? Eating right and exercising regularly to shed pounds are great goals for the upcoming year. However, extreme loss in weight may result in troublesome areas of sagging skin for some patients. Stretched skin which has lost its elasticity typically does not respond well to diet and exercise. Here at Bassin Plastic Surgery, we can help smooth those problem areas so you can look your best in 2015. Some common areas where patients experience sagging skin include:
Hanging Upper Arms
One particular problem for many people who experience weight loss is the formation of loose and sagging skin around the upper arms. The best way to address this issue is through an arm lift. Also known as brachioplasty, the arm lift targets loose skin that’s hiding your muscles in order to give your arms more shape and definition. Normally, brachioplasty takes two to three hours to complete and the recovery time is about two weeks.
Rubbing Thighs
Another problem area for many is the inner thigh. Sagging skin can result in pain while walking or going for a run. Even worse, chaffing may occur. In some instances, the presence of sagging skin can cause your body to appear disproportionate. Address these issues with a thigh lift, performed at our Orlando office! Our doctors will lift and tighten up the skin around your thighs, easing discomfort and improving your appearance.
Sagging Stomach
The stomach is perhaps the most common problem area among patients, as that stubborn layer of belly fat is often one of the toughest areas to burn off. If your abdominal muscles have been stretched by pregnancy or large fluctuations in weight, you may be an ideal candidate for a mini tummy tuck. Also known as abdominoplasty, this procedure can remove small amounts of skin and fat in the lower abs in a shorter amount of time than a standard tummy tuck. During the procedure, abdominal muscles are tightened and excess skin is removed. Most patients return to work within 1 to 2 weeks and the full recovery time ranges from 4-6 weeks.
