Which Cosmetic Filler Is Right For You?

POSTED ON MONDAY, AUGUST 29, 2016 AT 2:35 PM  by Dr. Roger Bassin

The end of summer is drawing near, which means it’s nearly back-to-school time. After prepping your children for the new school year, it’s time to focus on you! Bassin Center For Plastic Surgery offers a variety of non-surgical treatments, including cosmetic fillers, to replenish facial definition with no downtime or recovery. Cosmetic injectables, including BOTOX®, Dysport®, Restylane®, Sculptra®, Juvederm® , and Radiesse®, can temporarily reverse the signs of aging around the upper, mid, and lower face. Patients can undergo these cosmetic treatments in as little as 15 minutes and return to their daily routine immediately—just in time to pick the kids up from school! Learn more about our cosmetic fillers below and see which is right for you.

BOTOX® / Dysport®

BOTOX® and Dysport® are designed to treat crow’s feet around the eyes, forehead furrows, and frown lines. These non-surgical treatments take aim at underlying muscles that contract, forming facial wrinkles. BOTOX® and Dysport® injections temporarily relax these muscles for a smoother result.

Restylane® treatment can improve the appearance of fine lines around the mouth, lips, and cheeks. Restylane® is made from hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body, and can fill in facial wrinkles. Patients can opt for Restylane®, Restylane® Silk, or Restylane® Lyft, depending on the specific target area(s).

Sculptra® injections target moderate-to-deep facial wrinkling. Made from poly-L-lactic acid, Sculptra® helps restore lost collagen to the skin’s underlying layers. Over time, this injectable promotes a firmer, smoother-looking skin texture. Sculptra® can achieve longer-lasting results than other dermal fillers, with results lasting years, on average.

Juvederm® is a hyaluronic acid-based filler that can target a variety of areas, including the cheeks, nasolabial folds, under-eyes, and temples. Juvederm® is injected into fine lines to add natural-looking volume.

Radiesse® is made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres—a substance found naturally in your bones. Radiesse® can fill in areas of lost volume and encourage the production of new collagen to enhance skin structure.
